Abstract EN

The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between optimism, psychological health and some variables which are related to the student of university, such as race, age, social status (married / unmarried), the standard of living as well as the academic level.

Moreover, the Optimism Test of Mr.

Akaichi and the Psychological Health Test of Mr.

Muheisen were applied to a sample of 200 students (100 females, 100 males) from the Faculty of Social Sciences at Amar Telidji University in Laghouat.

Hence, this study resulted in the following: 1- there is a statistically significant and positive relation between optimism and psychological health of the students from the study’s sample.

2- there are statistically significant differences in psychological health due to the variable of social status.
