Abstract EN

The study aims to determine the extent to which Facebook is used by Algerian university students by identifying their habits and methods ofusing Facebook, their motivations,as well as the satisfactions derivedfrom this use, by using the sampling methodology on a sample of students of Humanities department at l’Arbi Ben M'hidi University, comprising100 individuals randomly selected.

A questionnaire was prepared to probe students' opinions.

The study concluded that students use Facebook consistently to stay in touch with their families and friends, to build new friendships.
