The proper application of the principles of governance in the banking system is through the role of the Central Bank in pushing banks to implement banking governance according to international standards of basel Committee, which ensures the safety and stability of the banking system.

The objective of this study is to identify the major role played by the Bank of Algeria in the establishment and strengthening of the principles of banking governance in the Algerian banking sector, according to the decisions of the Basle Committee.
