Abstract EN
The sustainable urban development is essentially based on the respect of the environmental dimension in the urban planning tools; the Algerian legislator has tried to borrow this matter by the directive urban planning, and the occupation and land use planning.
so as he has consecrated the idea to create an harmony between the environmental protection rules and the urban planning rules.
the interest of these tools to protect the environment appears thanks to the elaboration of rules concerning the earth specification and the limitation of the peopling extension in order to conserve the environment from degradation and pollution, also the obligation to consult the organisms in charge of the environment and to participate the citizen and the environmental associations to elaborate them.
however the degraded environmental reality which exists in the majority of our towns and the aggressions happening in the sensible regions reflect the incapacity of these tools in its actual situation to take real charge of the protection of the environment affair.
