Foreign direct investment has become a requirement sought by developing countries, especially Algeria in its efforts to achieve development.
this study tried to present the role of macroeconomic variables in attracting the foreign direct investment to Algeria during the period (1995-2015).
this has been done through testing the effect of number of variables: inflation, exchange rate, growth and economic openness on foreign direct investment by building a logarithmic measuring model.
the model showed that all variables are statistically significant and agree the logic of economic theory on this type of investment.
still, exchange remains the most effective variables.
