Abstract EN

The aim of this study was to estimate water needs and to schedule irrigation water for the tomato crop.

In order to achieve the objective, the study used a number of equations to estimate water needs, water consumption, irrigation requirement, irrigation cycle.

In this study, the electrical conductivity of a sample of groundwater was measured.

The results showed that the electrical conductivity of groundwater was 2.63 (ds/ m).

The monthly water requirements for tomato yield ranged from 138.42 mm in February to 300.41 mm in May.

The water requirement in the agricultural season was 880.43 mm.

Monthly water consumption ranged between 83.05 mm for February and 240.

3 mm for the month of May and the amount of consumption of tomato crop during the agricultural season 732.65 mm, and the requirement of washing 0.4%, Which is a high percentage, which confirms that the cultivation of tomatoes in Umariyya is not economically feasible.
