Abstract EN

This study aims at exploring the extent of availability of the pioneer ship characteristics among the educational leaders: The Director of Education, The Director of the Technical and Educational Affairs, The Director of the Financial and Administrative Affairs and The Head of Educational Training, Rehabilitation and Supervision Department in the directorates of education in the middle region of Jordan.

The researcher developed the instrument of the study which was consisted of 40 items; the validity and the reliability of the study were examined.

The sample of the study was out of 64 participants.

The researcher used the Descriptive Analytical Method; the means and the standard deviations were calculated for the dimensions of the pioneer ship characteristics.

The researcher used T test and ANOVA to analyze the results of the study.

The findings of the study were as follows: A high level of the availability of the pioneer ship characteristics among the educational leaders: The Director of Education, The Director of the Technical and Educational Affairs, The Director of the Financial and Administrative Affairs and the Head of Educational Training, Rehabilitation and Supervision Department in the directorates of education in the middle region of Jordan; the mean of the total grade in the eight-dimensions measurement was 350.58.There were no statistically significant differences between the educational leaders due to gender, job title, number of service years in the current job title and the qualification.

There were statistically significant differences between the participants due to attending pioneer ship programs; the differences were in favor of the participants who attended these programs.

The study concluded that there should be more attention for adapting training programs which develop the pioneer ship characteristics among the educational leaders according to their needs.
