Abstract EN

The study aimed at identifying the degree of practice of science teachers in the Northern Mazar Education Directorate of the Authentic Assessment Strategies and its Tools from their point of view.

To achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive analytical approach was used, and a questionnaire was prepared to collect data after verifying their validity and stability.

The sample of the study included all the science teachers in the Northern Mazar Education Directorate in the first semester of the academic year (2017/2018) and the number of them was(101) teachers.

The results of the study showed that the use of Authentic Assessment Strategies and its Tools by the science teachers was middle average.

In addition, the results showed that there were no statistically significant differences in the use of Authentic Assessment Strategies and its Tools by science teachers due to the gender variable, and there were statistically significant differences due to variable experience (experience of ten years and less).

In the light of the results, the researchers recommended some recommendations such as designing training programs for science teachers to include training needs related to Authentic Assessment, especially self-assessment and anecdotal record.
