Abstract EN

This study aimed at explaining the important role of corporate governance principles and mechanisms in assessing the financial performance of banks, choosing the Baraka bank of Algerian as a case study during the period (2010-2015).

the problem of the study lied in the extent to which the application of governance principles contributed to the performance assessment.

the study assumed the existence of a relationship between governance principles and mechanisms in improving the financial performance of banks.

the study adopted the analytical descriptive method depending on the model of return on private funds to determine this relationship.

the study findings showed that the application of governance contributes to the activation of the role of the board of directors.

the study most important recommendations indicated that establishing the principles of governance would have an impact on the bank, its strategies, and continuity.
