English Abstract

The study aims at identifying the degree of organizational commitment among the teachers from the perspective of school principles.

The study community is composed of all public-school principals in the governorate of Jerash for the (2018/2019) school year.

A random sample of (155) of study community was selected.

In order to achieve the study objectives, a questionnaire -which validity and stability was verified- was used.

The study found the degree of organizational commitment among the teachers in the governorate of Jerash from the school principals' perspective was moderate.

The highest organizational commitment levels were for the moral commitment towards the work in the school, then came the emotional commitment, after which perpetual commitment followed, and finally normative commitment.

It also noted at statistically significant differences due to the impact of academic qualification, experience and gender in all fields and total score, except for the both areas of emotional commitment and normative commitment.

In addition to the variable of secondary level in all fields and with a total degree.

The differences came in favor of what is higher than high diploma, and for more than 10 years, and in favor of the females.

The study recommends the importance of enriching the school leaders and teachers in the public secondary education with the organizational commitment concepts and its different components.

Moreover, strengthening the idea that the organizationally committed teachers will last longer in the organization and are more likely to work towards achieving its objectives.
