Abstract EN

The study aimed to identify the reality of the commitment of the public sector employers in Algeria to the profession ethics from the perspective of the citizen, and its impact on the mental image of the Algerian public administration by applying on Customs Department.

The Algerian Customs is one of the first departments to adopt a code of ethics.

The researcher used the analytical descriptive method through the use data collection including questionnaire, free interviews and participation through observation.

After the analysis, a number of results were reached, the most important were: The fact that the commitment to the ethics of the profession in the Customs Department such as honesty, integrity, transparent work performance and other principles was met with a middle grade according to the responses of the sample and the Department 's efforts to improve its image have not yet reached the required level, and based on the results, a set of recommendations and suggestions were issued.
