Abstract EN

There is no doubt that the level of doping has increased in general, especially in sports.

Recent studies by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) show that during 2014 and 2015, a number of 8400 doping cases by athletes were found.

Many countries have issued legislations for the purpose of combating doping in order to protect athletes and preserve their health, whether through specific legislation criminalising doping in sports or through Sports Law in general.

The Belgium Law issued on April 1965 was the first law to criminalise doping in sports.

Tunisian law also resolved the issue of doping in sports by taking national legal measures that guarantee the application of international treaties.

The law included various types of competitive and non-competitive activities such as horse riding, private and public individual projects and licensed sporting events by the relevant authorities for non-sports organisations.

Some countries have passed special anti-doping laws in sports in order to fulfill their international commitments to develop legislation and arrangements in the field of combating doping, especially after the ratification of the International Convention against Doping in Sport issued by the UNESCO in October 2005, which entered into force On 1 February 2007.

This research will shed light on Arab and International experiments in the field of anti-doping in sports for the purpose of protecting sporting activities which became an important necessity in today’s world and an important human right that all legislations and treaties seek to protect.
