Abstract EN

This research aims to study the concept of participatory democracy in order to know the better ways to govern local collectivities using betterinstitutional parameters that encourage a more governance.

The research also bring to light the political mechanisms that contribute to broadening the decision‐making process to establish the participatory local governance.

It explains that participatory governance is a variant, which puts emphasis on democratic engagement, in particular through deliberative practices.

The research found that Participatory democracy seeks to deepen citizen participation in the local governmental process by interrelated questions of citizen competence, empowerment, and capacity building as they relate to participatory governance, and evaluates the impact of local governance on service delivery, social equity, and political representation
