102 in October 25, 1961.

These relations were greatly strengthened after the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran, and coordination between the two countries' leaderships is at the highest level until Syrian-Iranian relations reach the level of strategic relations.

With the beginning of the crisis in Syria, the relations between the two countries reached a state of strategic depth due to the Iranian political, military and financial support to the Syrian government in its war against the armed terrorist organizations.
