Abstract EN

Pause is considered as language law since speakers cannot continue talking or reading continuously through connecting every word together.

Thus pause occurs on the most import word or to catch others' attention.

Therefore, there is a connection between tone, rhythm and pause.

Tone is considered a muscular practice for the articulatory organs.

Pause, on the other hand, has a connotative mark.

Rhythm refers to the way one reads or says an entire sentence through voice levels under the influence of pauses.

The scientists have found out the nature of the relationship between the three concepts.

Pause generally has a meaningful indication in language and style.

The current research deals with the concept of pause according to Nissabory's explanation and its relation with tone and rhythm and how this affects the rules of the pause aspects through the investigation of some examples from Quran.

Nissabory dealt with such matter in phonological terms based on the positions of the pause and showed its effect on those positions with reference to rhythm and tone.
