Renewed interest in implementing vertical integration processes in rentier economies is supported by the willingness of governments to reverse the deindustrialization movement that emerged after the post-reform period.

The purpose of this article is to study the vertical integration strategy upstream of ENIEM The first step is to develop a reading grid that reflects the focal points that were at the center of the theoretical work in the field.

Secondly, the concern is to examine the determinants of vertical integration logic upstream at the cold activity level of ENIEM.

and finally we will analyze the relevance ofENIEM’s vertical integration strategy upstream in the light of the transaction cost theory-.
