This study aims at identifying the use of sign language in the Holy Quran and Sunnah, to identify the forms and patterns of the use of sign language in the Quran and Sunnah and its implications, to know the reasons for using sign language in the Holy Quran and Sunnah, and to know whether sign language conveys ideas and meanings In the Quran and Sunnah, and to identify the most common parts of the body used to perform the reference in the Holy Quran and Sunnah.
This study was based on the analytical inductive method through reference to Quranic verses and prophetic traditions that used sign language and its analysis and knowledge of its meanings and benefit from the results of previous studies related to the subject.
Moreover, the study reached many results: There is a use of the sign language in the Holy Quran and Sunnah, where the rate of use of non-verbal communication, including sign language in the Koran about 72% of the Koranic verses.
The sign language used in the Holy Quran and in the Prophetic Sunnah has several forms and several meanings.
However, the results indicate that the reasons for using the sign language in the Quran and Sunnah with the spoken language helps to strengthen the communication process and increase its efficiency and understanding faster.
Some of the natural reactions and some emotional feelings that may not be transmitted from the way of verbal communication, and that the sign language may be an alternative to spoken language and replace and play their role and can deliver ideas and messages and meanings, and the number of members used in the sign language (hands, head, body) other than the spoken language, which are mainly dependent on the mouth and tongue, and that the movements used in sign language attract the opposite person more than the spoken language.
