The simultaneous increase in the interest for the African oil and strategic minerals by both US and China has resulted in a geostrategic race for the control of access to these resources,.

This rivalry has implied an enhanced demand for African oil and mineral exports and appears clearly in Sudan.

Finally, we conclude that this US-Sino geostrategic and geo-economic rivalry is going to rage now and in the future, due to the growing need for economic resources of the African continent, and its position in the map of the global influence of each of the two superpowers.
