The study aimed at identifying the extent of parental participation in the individual educational programs provided to students with intellectual disabilities from the point of view of their teachers and parents themselves, and the importance of their participation in the success of the individual educational programs, and to identify the obstacle that hinder parents’ participation in their children individualized educational programs.

And finding solutions or proposals Parents in the individual educational programs.

The study sample consisted of (156) teachers and (30) parents of students with intellectuals disabilities attending schools in the governorates of south Riyadh region, which include: Al- Kharj Governorate, Houta Bani Tamim Governorate, Fire Governorate, Aflaj Governorate, Al-Salil Governorate and Wadi Al-Dawaser Governorate, during the second semester of the academic year (1437/1438 AH).

The results of the study showed that teachers and parents believe that parents’ participation in the individual education program for students with intellectual disabilities is of high importance and that parents' participation enhances the achievement of the objectives of these programs.

However, the study revealed that teachers believe that the most important obstacles that prevent parents from participating in the individual education program for students with intellectual disabilities are parents' lack of confidence that their participation will result in positive results for their children; and parents believe that the most important obstacles were the teachers' insistence that parental involvement in the preparation of the educational program is of no avail.

In the light of the results of the study, a number of recommendations were presented that could contribute to changing the current impact of parents' participation in the individual educational programs of their children with intellectual disabilities.
