The current research aims to know the importance of GIS in the educational process and what can have an impact on the development of education and modernizing it to meet the requirements of this age, which is known as the era of information revolution and the cognitive explosion of these systems.

Which is characterized by high speed in the transfer of information to save time and effort and use of modern sources and linking, as well as the objectivity and full hand and provide the factor of excitement and suspense for the learner and make the learner a positive recipient and a researcher for information and development potential Scientific thinking, and cognitive and creative thinking through the use of this technique.Therefore, the importance of geographic information systems (GIs) can be reflected in the extent of the information service that can be provided by this technology to all areas, especially the field of education.

It represents advanced computer technology capable of collecting, storing, processing, analyzing, presenting and publishing information for special purposes.

Which will contribute to the planning and drawing of a long-term strategy of the state helps in the diagnosis and treatment of the problems faced by the system and the possibility of developing solutions, including: Crisis managemen1 Emergency medical services Urban planning Environmental protection Economic and social studies Improve production Make appropriate decisions This study attempts to highlight and clarify the scientific level that can be achieved if the use of modern educational systems in the educational process and how to use them and the conditions that must be met to achieve a level of education advanced and successful can be able to address many of the problems facing education, including low level of educational achievement depending on outputs This study provides an introduction to the ARC GIS program and its applicability in the field of education.
