English Abstract

The purpose of the present work directed toward the development of optical fabrication technology and optoelectronics artificial structures, through studying the analog between quantum and classical systems. Nowadays research efforts are interested the mesoscopic devices which made using one or several layers of metals or semiconductors materials, which have been fabricated by techniques employed for producing optical structure. In this thesis, we extended the previous works about the analogy concept between a left-handed optical and quantum media to show that the propagation is possible through a ballistic electron. We carried out the above mentioned approach by designing optical and mesoscopic structures with the same transmission in optical three layer have a lefthanded material with, and the single barrier with an artificial negative mass and . The possibility of designing optical layered media with left-handed material as the mesoscopic structures by making analogy between the Maxwell's equation which describe the light propagation and Schrodinger equation which describes the electron wavefunction has been verified. Analytical and mathematical models will be used as transfer matrix, the transmission characteristics and the varying of the electron effective mass are computed and illustrated for various physical parameters of the proposed mesoscopic structure by using Maple software 18.
