English Abstract
The generations of mobile communications developed from the 1st to the 5th generation which will be used in the upcoming years.
Those generations have been through many adjustments to cope with the revolution of the communications world.
In this thesis designs of several antennas for mobile handsets are presented.
The proposed antennas work on all the communication generations: Global System Mobile (GSM-900), GSM-1800, Industrial, Scientific and Medical (ISM), Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS), Long-Term Evolution (LTE), and 5th generation (5G).
The first antenna is multiband Planar Inverted F Antenna (PIFA) that operates at the GSM-900, GSM-1800 and WiFi, and the second proposed antenna is also Planar Inverted F Antenna (PIFA) operating at UMTS and LTE band-7.
A third microstrip two-element antenna array is proposed for 5G systems at 28 GHz.
All of those antennas are combined in one plan that fit the handset devises.
The antennas are designed using CST simulation software.
The obtained results satisfy the requirements of antenna for mobile handsets in terms of good return loss, sufficient bandwidth and good gain and high radiation efficiency.
The three antennas are integrated on a mobile handset circuit board to allow functioning at all frequency bands of mobile generations.
