Social norms in this study are considered one of the most important challenges in social strategies because its known to be one of the cultural and social obstacles.

furthermore, social work is a technical practice that works directly with developing challenges and actively works on increasing citizens level.

Our study is mainly targeting «the social work role to limit the negative effect of the social norms on social development».

This study was conducted on (1238) bachelor and higher education students in Saudi Arabia with multistage random sample.

Moreover, it resulted from the study that the outstanding well known type of social norms between Saudi families are focused on «marriage habits» with average of 1.80 out of 3.

One of the expected effects from attaching to the negative social norms is decreased participation of youth in social activities and unsuitable business to their tribe and social position.

The social work role is expressed in facing the negative social norms also it encourages youth to participate in enhancing loyalty and social development values.
