English Abstract

The rapid growth in the telecommunications technology, especially in wireless communications in the recent years, has led to a major development in the design of integrated circuits (ICs) to be an alternative option of other electronic devices such as BJT and CMOS transistors and passive devices.

Nowadays, the ICs are used to design RF amplifiers, oscillators and processors.

The main goal of this thesis is to design a wideband amplifier using 180 nm technology that can be used in any communication system operating at high frequencies.

Both LTspice and Cadence are used to design the proposed amplifier.

LTspice simulation results show that the amplifier has a bandwidth of 67 GHz with a 20 dB gain, while those of Cadence show that the proposed amplifier provides a bandwidth of 7.5GHz with a gain of 20dB.
