Abstract EN

In this paper, we aim to measure the impact of financial openness on economic growth in Algeria during the period 1990-2016 using the error correction model (VECM) by examining the stability of time series and the test of joint integration, and then estimating the equation of common integration in the long and short term, We tested the validity of the estimated model, and used annual data for all study variables from 1990 to 2016.In this study we used two indicators to measure financial openness: net foreign direct investment (FDI) and net foreign assets(NFA).

We found a positive effect for the indices, especially FDI - which had a relatively significant impact on economic growth, In addition to each of the other independent variables affecting economic growth such as government spending, investment and trade openness.
