If Polby considers attention as an attachment behavior and a set of parental behaviors of the physical and emotional care which is given to the child according to the biological sequence and if Cassidy considers it as a set of parental behaviors that create kinship and confidence to the child in case of his or her sense of danger or distress including hugging, calling, holding and relieving his or her sadness and if the families , at the birth of the disabled child, are shocked by great emotional reaction that may sometimes affect the relationship between parents as they blame each other, especially if the causes are unknown, the psychological and social organization becomes unstable, the relationship might be broken , some families may live in isolation, the mother may have to give up her work, in addition to the problems of brothers and the financial difficulties imposed by the therapeutic care of the disabled child.
