Abstract EN

This study aimed to investigate the levels of probability thinking of students in grades 7, 8, 9 and 10.

It also investigated the differences in these levels due to grade level and gender.

Subjects of the study consisted of (1571) students in grades 7, 8, 9 and 10 chosen from six schools in Amman.

To achieve the objectives of the study, a test in probability thinking was developed.

The test consisted of 31 items with five choices.

The validity and reliability were guaranteed by using suitable methods.

Results of the study showed that most of the students were in the second level of probability thinking and this ability is being developed by the level and that curriculum has main roles in developing these levels.

It also showed that ratio of males was greater than females on probability thinking at grades 9 & 10.

The results also revealed the existence of significant differences in the probability thinking following the different grades for the benefit of grade 10.
