The European settlers thought they won and brought the man who will carry out their criminal policy in Algeria.

Algerian people were waiting for General de Gaule to enhance their cause of independence and get rid of French colonialism.

the 16 th of September,1959 was considered as an explosion of a bomb for the European settlers, General Charles de Gaule has admitted that the Algerian people had the right to determine his own destiny , and thus de Gaule put an end to the idea of sovereignty of the French presence and the French eternal presence in Algeria.
