Academic communication practice between faculty members and their students in AAU: extent and impediments from students’ point of view Abstract The goal of this study is to know the extent of academic communication students practice with their teachers in AAU (Alahliyyah Amman University) It also aims at revealing the impediments that take place during this practice from the students’ point of view.

The study took into account the following variables: gender, GPA, year of study and faculty.

An authenticated and verified questioner 0f (39) items was built up and distributed to a sample of (445) students in AAU from different faculties.

The study showed that the degree of practicing academic communication and its impediments within the four variables was recorded as average.

The highest impediment level was due to material components i.e.

curriculum and atmosphere.

Lack of student/ teacher communication due to the teacher personnel was average.

While variables like the gender, GPA, year of studying and the faculty variable had no difference of statistical significance.
