This paper aims to study and analyse the conditions of adopting the official dollarization regime, which is considered one of the most important arrangements of fixed rate exchange regimes, and dropping it on the characteristics of the Algerian economy to see if it can be adopted and considered the best alternative to the floating regime in Algeria.
the study concluded that Algeria can adopt the official dollarization regime, especially in the presence of large exchange reserves and low inflation levels, and the presence of a major trading partner with which trade transactions are more than 50%: the european union.
therefore, the adoption of the euro currency as the official currency in Algeria will not face any problems.

Le présent document a pour objet d’étudier et d’analyser les conditions d’adoption du système de dollarisation officielle, qui est l’un des dispositifs les plus importants pour les régimes de taux de change fixes, et comparez-les avec les caractéristiques de l'économie algérienne pour voir si elle peut être adoptée et considérée comme la meilleure alternative au système flottant en Algérie.
l’étude a conclu que l’Algérie peut adopter le système de dollarisation, en particulier en présence de réserves de change importantes et de faibles niveaux d’inflation, ainsi que de la présence d’un partenaire commercial majeur avec lequel les transactions commerciales représentent plus de 50%: l’union européenne, et l’adoption de l’euro en tant que monnaie officielle en Algérie ne posera donc aucun problème.
