Abstract EN

This study aims at exploring how neoliberalism conceptualizes the phenomenon of government corruption hypothesizing a dual influence of neoliberalism mechanisms on government corruption practices.

To test for this hypothesis, the descriptive analytical and system approaches were used.

This study discusses the concept of government corruption providing analysis of the government corruption practices and the policies adopted by neoliberals to restrict such practices.

The study also takes the example of privatization, free trade, and investments to highlight the impact of neoliberalism mechanisms on government corruption.

The study concluded with a dual impact of neoliberalism mechanisms on corruption practices; on one hand they facilitate government corruption and on the other assist anti-corruption measures in some other ways
