Abstract EN

This research is a modest attempt by the researcher to shed light on the importance of university religious education, the importance of the university and its important role in preserving the unity of society, building the values of peace and tolerance, and enriching the community with people of moderate thought.

The role of religious education in universities and the ability of this education to combat and confront the ideas and threats to peace and social tolerance, especially in diverse ethnic, religious and doctrinal societies, as in the case of the Kurdistan society.

It also attempts to demonstrate the ability of universities to carry out their tasks in teaching and presenting the anti-extremist generation, arming them with the necessary knowledge and religious knowledge, and giving them the specialized religious knowledge and companionship to carry out this task.

It also sheds light on the success of graduate students from the faculties of Shari'a and the Islamic studies departments in the universities of the region in the face of Takfiri thought and teaching people the correct religious principles that help to maintain balance between the components of one society and cultivate peace and tolerance among the different segments of society.

The researcher focused on the following aspects: The importance of university education, the need for religious education in universities, the need to preserve social peace, and the most important threats to social peace and its relation to religion.
