Abstract EN

The objective of this study is to better know and analyze the reality of public expenditure and indicators of the health dimension of the development goals for the third millennium in Algeria during 2000- 2015 period.

that by measuring the effect of change on the main indicators of this dimension, that are : infant mortality rate and maternal mortality rate using the "Vector Auto-Regression –VAR" models.

The study concluded an inefficiency of public expenditure to lower the infant mortality rate, given the fact that these expenditures were no longer intended to improve health care for newborns or the provision of efficient medical equipment used in childbirth.

However, these expenditures have a positive impact on the maternal mortality rate by facilitating the access of pregnant or maternity women to health care services in the event of increased public spending in various social and economic sectors.
