The research aimed to identify the nature of rural educated youth attitudes towards working in private sector, determining reasons which make them prefer or refrain the work in it, determining the relationship between the personal characteristics and both preference and refraining reasons, and also determining the relationship between the personal characteristics and their attitudes toward the work in the private sector, and final identifying respondents suggestions to overcome the problems that prevent them to work in the private sector.
Research was conducted on 174 respondents from rural youth whose ages ranging from 20 to 35 years and having low, average, and high educational qualification in the three studied villages, 58 respondents were intended chosen from each village as systematic random sample.
Data were collected using reliable and vialled questionnaire during November and December 2016.
Data were tabled and analyzed using the suitable statistical methods.
Such as, percentages, frequencies, tables weighted average, simple coloration coefficient, and chi square.
Findings could be summarized as follow: - The most important reasons of the preference of rural educated youth to work in the private sector were lack of work opportunities in the governmental sector, high wages, and the ability of having high position, there are no of obstacles that prevent from traveling to work abroad, the freedom to leave the work when other better work opportunity is available.
- More than two thirds of respondents (67.2%) mentioned that the importance level of their preference reasons to work in the private sector is important to some extent.
- The most important reasons that make rural educated youth refrain to work in the private sector were forcing the workers to sign form 6 when starting the work and fire them when it is needed; the workplace is so fare from their residences, long work hours, no labor insurance, no feel of safety and stability in the private sector.
- More than half of respondents (53.5 %) mentioned that level of refrain reasons to work in the private sector is at high level.
- More than half of respondents (52.3%) their attitudes toward the work in the private sector were neutral, and one quarter of respondents 25.3 had negative attitudes, while, (22,4%) of them had positive attitudes.
- There was a significant relationship at 0,05 level between the father’s profession and the importance level of preference reasons of rural educated youth to work in the private sector value of.
- There was a significant reverse correlation between age, educational status of respondents and their attitudes degree toward the work in the private sector, the two values of the correlation coefficient are- 0.264, 0,142 respectively.
- There was a significant positive correlation relationship at 0.05 level between respondents family size and their attitudes toward the work in the private sector.
- There was a significant reverse correlation at 0.01 level between the respondents’ ambition degree and their opinion concerning the importance degree of refrain reasons to work in the private sector.
- The most important respondents’ suggestions to overcome the problems that prevent them from working in the private sector were as follow; effective use of the supervisory labor offices, on private sectors’ companies must establish social insurance on for their workers, raising the wages yearly in accordance with the effort in doing the work and the change in the market prices, and determining the working hours as it are in the governmental sector.
