until the end of the 19th century, the artistic prose was still the subject of ideological analyses in an abstract manner and there was a total neglection of the concrete problems of literary prose discourse; as a result, it was regarded as poetic speech in its narrow sense.

It was studied stylisticaly with the same tools that the poem was taught by and by the same perspective.

In the beginning of the second decade of the 20th century, this view was changed and the procedural tools used to analysed were also changed.

This article sheds light on the most important theories that exceed the old perceptions of the concept of prose, as seen by the the Russian critic Mikhail Bakhtine
