Abstract EN

The purpose of this study, entitled "The role of the media in guiding children toward choosing the type of their favorite sport" - a field study on a sample of children athletes in Oum El Bouaghi city, to reveal the extent of the impact of the media in children directed towards the practice of sport without the other, we have adopted on the survey sample curriculum through the distribution of a questionnaire form consisting of 50 children a sample of those who practice the following sports: football, basketball, badminton, boxing, karate.

The process resulted in the analysis of the results as follows:  Most respondents exercise less than one year;  Most respondents chose a sport that they practice because they love it;  All respondents confirmed that the media played a role in the selection of a sport that they practice;  Television is considered the opinion of the majority of respondents the most influential media in their choice of sport that they practice, followed to the internet;  Games and sports competitions more programs are considered follow-up by the sample.

One of the main recommendations of this study include:  The need to give importance to the integration of mathematical topics and content in media content for children;  Selection of films and cartoon films that develop sports culture among children and motivate them to engage in physical activity;  Investment in the great role played by television and the Internet and exploitation in the formation of a generation of children loves sports and tends to practice different types;  Ensure the diversification of mathematical topics in media content for children, so they go to practice all sports and not to focus on one type without the others.
