Abstract EN

Considerable data for the period January 1986 to December 2014 is available from the Red Sea coastal stations at Alwajeh, Yanbu, Jeddah and Jizan.

These stations, managed by the Saudi Meteorological and Environmental Protection Authority, are regarded as principal meteorological stations.

Taking into consideration the climatic stability at Red Sea Latitudes, the start and end of the "Geographical” season differ from those of the "Astronomical” season, which are governed both by the winter and summer solstices and by the vernal and autumnal equinoxes.

This research aims to determine when the Geographical winter season occurs on the Red Sea coast of Saudi Arabia.

This will help in developing tourist sites on these coasts.

The analysis of climatic data will enable the outline of the climatic structure and progression of the Geographical winter from the north to the south Red Sea coasts between Alwajeh and Jizan.

Finally, this mathematical analysis will highlight the importance of climate to tourism on the Red Sea coast in Saudi Arabia.
