Abstract EN

Wadi El-Natrun Depression Located in the Northern East of the Western Desert between Latitudes 30° 15' 29" and 30° 33' 23" North and Longitudes 29° 59'17" and 30° 30' 50" East, the depression extending along Axis Northern west-Southern est, the area of depression covers about 1352.5 Km2, the depression bottom covers 592.7 Km2 in the rate of (43.8%) of total area.

This Study included the Studying of the factors affecting the origins and evolution of sabkhas, Morphometric Characteristics and the changes of the Sabkhas, the phys¬ical and chemical properties of sabkhas deposits, Land Forms of the Sabkhas, and the Study of the Applied Geomorphology for Sabkhas.

In this study, it was found that there is a link between the Sabkhas and the lake, which is affected by the rise and fall of the water level.

The area in¬creases during the spring and summer sea¬sons due to the high evaporation rates and low of discharge to the lakes.

Its area is steadily increasing.
