Abstract EN

This paper is considered as an evaluation of the agricultural policies and rural development implemented in Algeria the daw of the 21st century; by tackling the content of the PNDAR and PRAR, the current five-years plan, than evaluating the results that have been achieved through the main indicators of: the agricultural area, the workforce, and the production.

By relying on the descriptive method, we came up with the conclusion that positive results have been realized by adopting these policies; However, these results did not live up to the goals and budget allocated to them because of several obstacles that are primarily: the reliance on rained agriculture, the use of the traditional harvesting methods, the agricultural support those who don't deserve it, and not building valuable chains for agriculture.
