The Level of Teachers‘ Tolerance of Students‘ Misbehavior in the Secondary Stage.

This study aimed at determining students‘ misbehavior in the secondary stage according to the extent to which teachers can tolerate those misbehaviors ; in addition, the study aimed a investigating the effect of the variables : teachers‘ level of education, years of experience and gender on teachers‘ tolerance misbehavior.

Moreover, the study aimed at ranking the dimensions related to misbehavior according to their impact.

The sample consisted of (160) teachers distributed on secondary governmental schools in the north governorates of the West-Bank.

These teachers were selected from the study population of (420) teachers.

They were asked to respond to (82) items listed in an attitudinal questionnaire following Liker Scale.

Results indicated that teachers showed low tolerance with (21) misbehaviors ; another (21) misbehaviors were highly tolerated by the teachers, while the other (40) misbehaviors had intermediate tolerance.

In addition, results indicated that there was no significant mean difference in tolerating students‘ misbehavior due to the level of education, experience ,gender and the interaction within them.

Concerning ranking the dimensions according to their importance, it has been found that the dimension related to psychological problems ranked the first ; the dimension related to social problems ranked the second ; and the dimension related to academic problems had no significant effect.
