The aim of this research paper is to show the role of Algeria, like many countries in the world, in developing renewable energies as alternative energy sources to reduce pressure on fossil energy resources.
Since independence, Algeria has been concerned with the renewable energy sector because of the environmental damage caused by the exploitation of fossil energies, as well as the fluctuations in the prices of fuel, which have negative repercussions on the national economy.
This prompted the Algerian government to develop alternative energy programs not only to develop its resources but also to upgrade the legal and administrative framework in this field
