Abstract EN

The sector of small and medium enterprises (SME) is undoubtedly one of the main vectors of development to which many countries confirmed they owed their economic boost.

Yet, developing the sector of SME in any country requires a well-determined general policy that is set out and implemented by the government.

Algeria is among the countries that gave so much importance to this sector in an attempt to get rid of the dependency of its economy towards oil.

The political speech emphasizes the government’s reliance on this sector by renewing its legislation, intensifying its funding resources and supporting its expansion in the whole country.

In this study, we shall try to highlight the general policy towards the sector of small and medium enterprises in Algeria, evaluate the efficiency of the body in charge of creating its enterprises as well as to propose some suggestions that might help develop this sector according to the needs of this era.
