Abstract EN

This paper aim to highlight the importance of the NOON (ن) sound in the Arabic language taking into consideration two main aspects.

Firstly, the researcher intends to discus s the claim according to which Arabic, differently from the other languages, is characterized by the Dad (ض)sound or other sound such as ZAD (ظ) or HAH (ح).

This is an opportunity to underline the importance of other sounds among which the NOON.

Secondly, the researcher aims to show the importance of the NOON sound in itself separately from the other sounds without any comparison.

The objective is not to name the Arabic language after the NOON sound instead of the ZAH sound, but rather to show the unique deep effect of the NOON sound on the Arabic terms and structures, which makes it a specific sound
