Abstract EN

This study aims to identify the reality of “takaful insurance” in Algeria and the prospects of its development, as one of the most important components of the financial system, by proving its great success as a major contributor to the progress of the state's economy, and its emergence as a legitimate alternative to commercial insurance, the analytical descriptive approach was used to describe and analyze the study variables of” takaful insurance”, as well as to rely on the comparative method in analyzing the reality of this type of insurance in Algeria.

the study found that the Islamic insurance in Algeria is weak, by having a single institution applies this type of insurance which is “Salama company”, in the absence of clear laws governing the work of the Islamic financial industry to date, and the shortage of qualified human resource technically and legally to apply it, however, Algeria's efforts remain relatively weak, and are known to be significantly lagging behind other Arab and Islamic countries and even some European countries.
