Ibn Khaldun (1332-1406) is a pioneer of social studies in the Arab-Islamic context, which constitutes a landmark of knowledge in Islamic and universal thought.

He moved from pure and abstract mental perceptions to the extrapolation of social and historical reality, trying to reveal the actual and material factors of human reality.

What makes us say that the reality of Ibn Khaldun led him to the establishment of a new rationality, is an objective social rationality beyond the rationality of philosophers and jurists together.
