Regional development seeks to achieve economic growth as much as possible through the use of available economic and human resources within the specific regional space, to reduce economic and social disparities between regions of the region and between the region and other regions.

The study aims at measuring the degree of regional disparities in development Economic and social sectors between the districts of Diyala in 2016,Through the use of methods descriptive and quantitative analysis, and the diagnosis of the priority of development among the regions of the region, through which regional policies can be developed for the distribution of population and investments and to identify future development projects for all sectors and provide basic services to reduce the development disparities between them and identify the least developed areas in the region, The courts of Baquba and Khalis are the best districts of the region according to the developmental planning indicators adopted in the study, followed by the courts of Khanaqin and Muqdadiya and finally the judicial Balldrouz and Kfri.And the relationship between the population and the existing allocations was positive and strong.

This indicates that the policies of the distribution of investments between the regions of the region adopted the criterion of population at the base, while the strength of the relationship between the degree of regional development and allocations observed is very low (-0.86%), In the distribution of investments to government in the region,And the most important recommended by the study is the need to provide basic services and infrastructure in the regions of the region and the first phase should be towards the district of Khanaqin and Almqdadiya who occupied the middle development category, and then after the courts of Baldrooz and Kfri to achieve a state of equality and reduce the developmental disparity between the regions of the region, And the development of districts that were concentrated in the first two places (Baquba and Khalis) as a third priority.
