Countries and communities have been interested in education, becoming a necessity of daily life and determining the social status of individuals.

which led them to devise methods and methods for students to study in general and slow learning in particular.

the bloody events that have taken place in Iraq since 2003 have led to an increase in the number of people with special needs and their growing problems in the society as a result of explosions, rising violence and crime, low care, poor health facilities and lack of specialized staff.

the problem of research about the services provided to children of slow learning by the educational institutions, especially primary schools in the city of Baghdad.

and to increase the theoretical and practical knowledge about this category to develop specialized solutions and programs to benefit from the abilities of mentally disabled children to develop, develop and improve the skills of public behavior as much as possible.

thus, the importance of the present research is reflected in the important role that educational institutions play in the educational process of the child and prepare him to practice his various social roles and functions in life.

because early childhood is the basis of the individual's subsequent personality on which his productivity and future gifts depend.

the first objective of the research was to identify the level of services provided by educational institutions in the care of children with slow learning.

the second objective was to identify the role of educational institutions in the care of children with slow learning according to the percentage of each paragraph.

the research sample (80) schools containe slow-learning children, within the second directorate of education karkh for the academic year (2017 - 2018), the researchers designed a scale of 14 questions in its final form, in which the validity and reliability were proved were used.

the results of the statistical analysis showed that the average sample score on the role of educational institutions in the care of the slow learner was (7.027) with a standard deviation of (3, 53), while the mean average of the scale 7 and the result of one sample t-test showed (0,046) when it compared to the table value of (2, 00), it was found that it was not statistically significant at 0,05 and 36 degrees.

this means that the care of educational institutions for the slow learners is weak very.

the results also showed the lack of cooperation between the family and the school, as well as the lack of follow-up of children to integrate them with their peers in school.

the study concluded with a number of recommendations and proposals.
