Abstract AR

This study is focused on the function of J azir al-Jawali in the Mamluk state.(The overseer of Alins and non-Muslims) The Jawali are the annual levies imposed by the sultans on the people of Dhimah, which has the name of Jizyah during Umayyads and the Abbasids rules In another definition It is the obligatory tribute levied on the people of Dhemmah in return of their continuation of living in the Islamic countries under the dhimmis status and not to be deported from them, and that includes protecting them and give them the rights that are given to the Muslims.

In this research I aim at clarifying the meaning of the word Jawali and how to appoint the administrator of this job, and the most important qualities that must be characterized in him, the research also explains how and time the levying and its amount and the people who were subject to it status when.

The research also studies the work of I azir al-Jawali and the affecteds of the political situation of the Circassian mamluk state experienced by the state of the Circassian Mamluks.

At the end of the research, the most prominent of those who took over the post are mentioned.
