Abstract EN

The study explores the methods used by Saudi parents to discover if their children suffer from Autism Spectrum Disorder.

The study examines whether these methods are affected by different sets of variables.

To achieve this goal, a random sample was collected, consisting of 223 individuals participating with the Charitable Society of Autism Families in the district of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

A survey was developed to collect information on family experiences in the detection of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

The mean, standard deviation and data analysis was done through ANOVA and Scheffe tests.

The results revealed that some families do not send their children to get diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder at an early age.

However, there was a significant change in the level of education.

Highlighting that education is an important factor in parents' awareness of the importance of sending their children to experts for an early diagnosis.

There were no significant differences between respondents' gender, parents, place of residence, or number of cases of autism in the family and the discovery of children with disorder.
