Algeria has a large area of palm farms, which includes millions of palms that give dozens of dates, the finest and most famous dates, "Deglet Noor", which has many characteristics to compete with the types of dates in the international market, and allow to a certain extent to diversify Algeria's exports and the provision of hard currency.

Despite its importance, the date branch in Algeria is of a traditional nature, facing a number of difficulties, such as the lack of good inputs of reasonable prices, the ineffectiveness of local marketing channels and the country's lack of a well-thought-out strategy to enter international markets and occupy a niche worthy of its products.

In order to develop the production of this branch, the Algerian authorities created a number of mechanisms that allow this, in the context of the advancement of the agricultural sector in general.

The most important measures supporting the agricultural sector were the adoption of the National Plan for Agricultural Development, National Fund for Agricultural Control and Development, Green Corridor, Comrade Loan.

On the level of encouraging agricultural exports, many measures have been taken, such as changing the customs law, establishing the Algerian Agency for the Promotion of Foreign Trade, establishing the Export Development Fund, adopting the OPTIMEXPORT program and establishing the National Association of Algerian Exporters.

In order to develop Algeria's exports outside the hydrocarbons, a lot of efforts have been made in the development of dates branch in Algeria.

The great potential of the dates branch in Algeria is in a better position.

Therefore, public authorities must adopt a clear strategy for the promotion of the date branch, a strategy based on improving production, improving date packaging, registering a trademark for Deglet Noor, supporting a marketing policy in the international market and looking for new markets and not just traditional markets.
